This tutorial will show
you how to set up Microsoft Outlook
2000 to retreive mail from the server
1. Open Microsoft Outlook
2000.
2. From the "Tools" menu,
choose "Services".
3.
Click the : "Add" button.
Note:
The services shown below are only examples. Your list may be
different.

Select "Internet E-mail"
in the "Available information services"
list.
5. Click the "Ok"
button.
GENERAL:
6. In
the "Mail Account" field,
type your Internet Provider's name (ex. Cox
HS).
7. In the "Name"
field, type your name (ex. j smith).
8. In the "E-mail
address" field, type your email address (ex.
jsmith@yourdomain.com).
9. In the "Reply
Address" field, type your email address again
(ex. jsmith@yourdomain.com).
10. Click the "Apply"
button.
SERVERS:
12. Click
on the "Servers" tab up top.
13. In the "Incoming
mail server (POP3)" field enter mail.yourdomain.com.
14. In the "Outgoing
mail server (SMTP)" field enter your SMTP
account (ex. smtp.west.cox.net).
If your internet provider
is Cox, AOL, Earthlink, Pacbell or any other provider you will
need to enter the outgoing mail or SMTP provider that they provided
you with. This information is most likely provided to you when
you set up your account or by contacting their technical support
department.

In the "Account Name" field
enter the email address your will be getting mail from (ex.
jsmith@yourdomain.com).
16. In the "Password"
field enter your password.
17. Check the box next to "Remember
password" if you want to avoid typing your
password each time you retrieve email.
18. Check the box next to "My server
requires authentication".
19. Click the "Settings"
button.

Select "Log on using".
21. In the "Account
name" field, type in your email address (ex.
jsmith@yourdomain.com).
22. In the "Password"
field enter your password.
23. Check the box next to "Remember
password" if you want to avoid typing your
password each time you retrieve email.
24. Click the "OK"
button.
To retreive your email simply open Outlook and
hit the "Send/Receive" button.
